Located just behind the Leicester Tigers stadium on Aylestone Road, Taste Restaurant is easily accessible and, with its close proximity to the city centre, is perfect for enjoying a meal before an evening out, or as a standalone evening.

The restaurant is decorated simply, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is a pleasure to dine it. With warm wooden tables and flashes of green , the dining experience is relaxed and easy-going. Taste is suitable for all occasions and has hosted large group functions for weddings and christenings of one hundred people. Their private hire room, The Granby Suite, is perfect for those looking for a little intamacy for their special occasion. Able to seat between twenty and fifty guests it adds another dimension to an already superb dining experience.

Under the watchful eye of their Head Chef and tutors, students are taught to create beautiful dishes ranging from Japanese to Italian and British. You can rest assured that every dish is prepared with the utmost care and precision as everything counts towards their final grades. The students are passionate and, from the presentation and flavour of every dish that leaves the pass, if you didn’t know you it was cooked by students, you would never guess!

On the menu you can expect to find a whole array of different cuisines depending on the term times, seasonality and what the students want to learn. In the images above you can see the starter of macerated beetroot served with creamed gevrik; young goat’s cheese, and pine kernels. For mains the sous vide belly of pork, soy bean and udon noodle stir-fry with a fragrant chestnut puree, or the beautiful salmon and smoked haddock mousealine with sautéed spinach and a sauce vierge are both superb choices.
