Situated in the idyllic village of Wing, this 17^th century inn is both a cornerstone of the local community and a champion of everything to do with Rutland. Housed within the Inn is the King’s Arms, a venue that goes above and beyond its status as a pub and restaurant.

The King’s Arms is packed with charm and character with exposed brick work, beams and checked table-cloths giving a rustic, country feel to this traditional village pub. In the bar and lounge area you will find a gorgeous wooden bar stocking real ales alongside home-cooked jars of crackling and home spiced nuts as well as a good range of wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks. As well as this you will find comfortable arm chairs surrounding a log burning fireplace, perfect for enjoying a drink on a cold winter’s night. The restaurant is bright and airy with a quaint, country feel about it. Blue and white checked tables cloths, white washed walls and polished wooden floors create a comfortable, homely environment to enjoy a bite to eat at lunch or to linger over an evening meal.

Head Chef Jimmy is a culinary master who prides himself on using the venues own smokehouse and curing processes to create delicious ingredients to use in his creations. Receiving many awards, including 2 AA rosettes and Silver excellence award for “Taste of the Region”, Jimmy is focused upon the culinary experience rather than pretence of high-class dining and diners flock from all around to share this love of fine cuisine.

Adorning the wall in one of the areas in the restaurant you will find a map of Rutland and the surrounding areas where Jimmy sources all of his ingredients but it goes further than that. All meats are bought whole from suppliers including local Hambleton game and pigs, which are butchered on site. Absolutely everything from Parma ham to pepperoni, and cured legs of lamb to bread has been cooked on site; nothing is brought processed, meaning that the food on your plate is not only fresh, but is also helping to support local growers and breeders in the area. 

The menu is ever changing with the seasons but you can expect to see dishes such as Suckling Pig from Chater Valley Farm served with pancetta, shallots and apple & red cabbage, and pan-fried smoked grey legged partridge breast and crispy leg served with beetroot puree, black pudding, pancetta and apple.
