Cedar's Lebanese restaurant in Leicester City Centre
Cedars’ Lebanese restaurant is located in Leicester city centre on the corner of Church Gate, Mansfield Street and St Peters Lane, within five minute’s walking distance of St Margaret’s Bus Station on Gravel Street.
Throughout history Lebanon has been the pivotal link between overland caravan routes from the East and ship routes from the West. As a country that has continuously played host to tourists, hospitality is one of the most important objectives. This desire to make diners feel welcomes is interpreted beautifully at Cedars as diners are encouraged to relax and enjoy the meal at their own pace.
The dining room is gently lit and features stone floors and a large space that it is reserved as a dance floor for the belly dancers that frequently provide entertainment for guests. Cedar’s aim is for all diners to enjoy their food, relax and feel as if they have been whisked away to Lebanon. There is even a Shisha garden to the front of the restaurant, allowing diners to relax after their meal with a coffee and the opportunity to smoke a genuine Shisha pipe.
Food is a pivotal part of Lebanese culture and diners are able to enjoy a whole variety of Mezze dishes that are full of flavour using nuts, grains and exotic spices including Sambousek Meat; fried pastry parcels filled with seasoned mincemeat and Makanek; a dish of Lebanese sausages, flamed and flavoured with lemon juice. The Mezze dishes can be enjoyed as a meal on their own or as a starter before enjoy one of the delicious mains courses such as the Seasoned Ferri; a whole quail, seasoned with coriander, garlic and lemon juice and grilled, or the Lamb Couscous consisting of marinated lamb pieces and mixed vegetables cooked in a tomato sauce and served with couscous.
Cedars offers fantastic service and hosting that is both friendly and professional. It is the ideal venue for a fun and lively evening out, particularly for larger groups as diners are encouraged to get up and join in the belly dancing.

We were surprised at how nice the place was inside. The staff are very friendly and the food is lovely though I wouldn't recommend it for really fussy eaters. There are so many exciting dishes to try that you will go back just to try the rest of the menu!

Enjoyed the lunchtime special - great value for money. A little quite considering the cheap menu but we enjoyed ourselves none-the-less. Mark the owner was very helpful and accommmodating so will certainly return for our lunch again.
