Barnacles Seafood Restaurant in Hinkley, Leicestershire
Barnacles fish restaurant in Hinkley, Leicestershire, has been passionate about fish since opening in 1993. Situated just off the A5 before the M69 it is easily accessible and diners can benefit from free parking at this venue.
The privately owned establishment is set in stunning historical grounds overlooking a fishing lake with a rich history; originally belonging to the Monastery of Coombe Abbey, it was used by the Monks for carp fishing. The building itself was used as a granary and Barnacles has resided in it since 1933. It was built using original bricks from the site, making the restaurant not only a superb location to enjoy a meal or drinks but a place to soak up some of the beautiful local scenery and history.
As a seafood restaurant, Barnacles offers exquisite fish dishes including the tempting Halibut Supreme & Tempura Tiger Prawns on creamed leeks with butter cocotte potatoes and the classically sophisticated Lobster Thermidor. For those who prefer turf to surf there is also a selection of prime steaks as well as risotto dishes on offer. If you don’t fancy a full meal then perhaps the bar is the ideal location for you. Here you can relax in casual surroundings and enjoy a crisp, cold drink and some sophisticated bar snacks such as the Artisan bread, Olives or Spicy Octopus.
On the last Sunday of every month there is also a live music night, where you can enjoy the classic Barnacles menu while soaking up some local talent. This is by reservation only and places fill up fast so make sure you book with plenty of time to spare.
